Can Older Cows Deliver?

With the Indian government's intention to save cows that passed their economic lives, farmers will find such cows as a burden. Can such cows still deliver economically?
If such cows can deliver female calves, even if they do not give milk, they would be prized.
That raises two questions:
Can cows act as surrogate mothers?
Are
there techniques to get more female calves than male calves?
I did Internet search and found that it is technically feasible.
Can older cows become surrogate mothers? I could not get the answer so far in my Internet search
in terms of age limit to surrogacy. I will be asking professionals and experts.
Is it acceptable under the Hindu Dharma? I have to ask knowledgeable Gurus.

Final Rites for Cows

With Cow slaughter ban in India, there will be the question of care of older cows and finally the disposal of deceased cows.
I did a search to find out safer and cleaner methods and composting appears to be a possibility. It may also be economical and beneficial to the farmers who take care of the cows while they were alive.

I found the following links from a Google search with keywords - composting large animal carcasses -

You will get more links by searching.
It is appropriate for the Government and for Hindu Asrams to do research and prepare a decent and good brochure on the topic.
